Louis Marinelli, a NOM operative for five years who in April recanted and said he would fight for marriage equality - is now supporting evangelical Gov. Rick Perry in his bid for president. Marinelli had produced the NOM bus tour and had been planning his own pro-gay marriage tour to begin this summer. Instead, it seems that Marinelli is backing away from gay marriage activism because: 1. HRC also decided to run a summer bus tour 2. He wrote: "I support marriage equality as a constitutional principle but there is no place for me standing among crazy, whiny liberals." Marinelli says he still supports gay marriage.
