Prosecutors don't want the identity of a man caught on camera in an intimate encounter with Rutgers University freshman Tyler Clementi to be revealed. Court papers from the invasion of privacy case resulting from Clementi's suicide only identify the man by the initials "M.B." The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office in New Jersey filed a motion asking Superior Court Judge Glenn Berman to issue a protective order that would keep M.B.'s name, address and birthday hidden. Earlier this month, attorneys for Clementi's roommate, Dharun Ravi, requested to speak to M.B. to help prepare for their client's defense case. Ravi, 19, is charged with invasion of privacy and bias intimidation for allegedly using a webcam to spy on Clementi and M.B. last fall. A few days later, Clementi committed suicide by jumping off of the George Washington Bridge, bringing national attention to the issue of cyberbullying. Ravi is charged with 15 counts, including invasion of privacy and trying to mislead investigators. If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison. The next court date in the case is set for Sept. 9.
