She's baaaaaaaaack. Former witch Christine O'Donnell [1] walked out of her CNN interview last night. She was on Piers Morgan's show and didn't like the "rude" host asking her about same sex marriage. Weird for her to go into a snit, considering her past comments about LGBT [2] peoples. The failed politician is hawking her new book Troublemaker [3]. In the memoir she blames the infamous I'm Not a Witch [4] ad on her handlers. Now she confesses she instinctively knew the spot was a bad idea. This gal is a flake, unwilling to take responsibility for her own election loss. O'Donnell got spanked because she was a terribly flawed candidate, and no amount of "gut trust" would have changed that. Word of advice: if you know anyone who buys this clown's book stop talking to that person. Today (parents and grandparents excluded). [5] Social Studies teacher puts his anti-gay bias on Facebook. It's funny when public employees have Facebook anti-gay rants. Remember the Arkansas school board member [6] who danced on the graves of dead gay children? Jerry Buell [7] is a longtime social studies teacher in Lake County, Florida. As reported by the Orlando Sentinel, he doesn't think too much of marriage equality. According to his Facebook page he "almost threw up" after hearing the marriage news in New York. In that same online conversation he noted that gay unions are part of a "cesspool." "It wasn't out of hatred," he said in an interview with the newspaper. "It was about the way I interpret things." The teacher of the year has been suspended from the classroom and reassigned. There will be an investigation. My problem with the guy is he doesn't model analytical skills for his students. I know it's Facebook, but couldn't he offer something more substantial than wanting to yak? Maggie Gallagher probably felt the same way, but gave intellectual reasons why she wasn't aboard. A teacher of the year should, at the very least, show what it means to be an engaged citizen. [8] Santorum's vision of freedom doesn't include you. According to Sen. Rick Santorum [9], the country was more free in the 1700s than now (thanks to Think Progress for the clip). Considering the dude's master issues [10], this makes complete sense. [11] Enter a contest. Do a good deed. Sign up for the chance to win two tickets to the Video Music Awards [12]. Lifebeat [13] gets a dollar for each contestant. If you win, I expect to be your guest. [14] Bisexual men do exist. Don't want to jump in the bisexual thicket this morning. No better way to get gay men all frothy with indignation than muse about bisexuality, and acknowledge there are men who desire both genders. With that said, Dan Savage [15] pointed to a new study that makes a complicated case about those greedy bastards (wink). The takeaway: some men love the guys and gals. Others only love the guys, but lie about getting off with both.
